What is the difference in Karate and Taekwondo uniforms?

I am looking to buy a new uniform and I know that karate and taekwondo uniforms are generally used interchangeably, but there must be a difference in the two or they would not place them in different categories. I know that Karate is upper body focused (basically) and taekwondo is lower body focused ( i think the pants are more reinforced than karate), so maybe the uniforms are more giving in those areas...???
