My nephew died at 3 months old from SIDS.. can my new niece get it?

Com down honey...it is not hereditary. But her mother should keep a eye on her. It was link to paint on the crib...is her mother using the same crib? There are also monitor the mother can buy to keep a eye on the baby breathing.
