Is it possible that things exist under our noses that we arent aware of?

Oh I'm sure there are things that exist that us humans haven't discovered or aren't aware of to this day. How boring life would be if we knew everything that there is to know and nothing left to discover. New creatures are discovered in the sea quite often that have never been seen before or were thought to be extinct. Kinda makes me want to kick over a few rocks and see what's under there! Science is a marvelous thing and the tech-knowledge that continues to grow just fascinates me.
